We created an encyclopedia of the best ingredients, tried and tested hundreds of ingredients and recipes, and threw out hundreds of cookies in order to land on our rather magical MagicMood recipe.

When we started our company, we made one promise to ourselves, built on a belief that we were willing to stand by no matter where MagicMood goes. It was the promise of the best, premium, specially selected ingredients, in mindful, meaningful quantities. We wanted to create snacks and foods that we enjoy and that we would feel proud and happy to share with our parents, our children, our friends, and everyone close to us.

Our food defines us, powers us, empowers us, and becomes part of our very selves.

Italian Extra-Virgin Olive Oil

A staple in Italian households, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) was a regular and very generously used ingredient in Sandro’s family as he was growing up. He recalls the fresh and uplifting yet enveloping flavors of the EVOO - lightly herbaceous with slight fruity notes - drizzled on salads, rubbed on pane (bread), poured atop pasta and pizza.

EVOO is the finest grade of olive oil and extremely rich in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. Italy is home to the best EVOO producers, and the oil is made using a cold-press method to preserve the bioactive qualities of the olives. Through this process, a large amount of olives is needed to yield far less olive oil as compared with other methods, which is why EVOO is so valuable and expensive. By preserving the polyphenols which fight free radicals and provide anti-aging effects, EVOO is a true gift of nature infused into every Magicmood cookie and gives it its superior signature taste.

French Sea Salt from Guérande

Guérande is part of the Pays de la Loire region in Western France, where salt has been harvested on the edge of the Atlantic since the Iron Age. The hand harvesting techniques used today date back to the 9th century, with more than five salt works dating back to the Carolingian period.

With gentle sunshine, moisture, heat and wind, the seawater evaporates gradually and the salt concentration increases to become the unique and valuable namesake Guérande salt. The wind has to be perfect, and the salt has to be harvested at the perfect time and dried for a full year before it is ready. This salt can cost 230 times more than table salt. Taste-wise, it melts in the mouth slowly and lingers longer.

With salt this good, it's no wonder the French saying goes, "Table sans sel, bouche sans salive" (A table without salt is like a mouth without saliva)!

Coconut sugar from the islands of Indonesia

In this day and age, we are surrounded with so many forms of sugar and sugar variants that it is almost mind-boggling to figure out which one is truly better for you. We believe that the best way is the natural way and so, after trying and testing many forms of sugar, we finally chose a coconut sugar that is sustainably produced and harvested close to nature, off the coastal islands of Indonesia.

Coconut sugar contains minerals such as iron, zinc, calcium, potassium and antioxidants. We love its low glycemic index, natural origins, and most definitely, its delicious, complex, slightly earthy caramel flavor that has the ability to do so much with so little.
